How times change. · 4:20am January 14th
When I was a little kid, I liked winter. Cold weather meant snow, which was fun. Cold weather meant snow days, which were nice.
Now, however, I'm an adult. Cold weather means more work. Cold weather means more trouble. Cold weather means my life gets harder.
So yeah, as usual, my job is driving me nuts and I can't get anything done. I've barely been able to get my new phone set up - still have to get voicemail sorted for it - and I still have a lot of stuff that I want and need to get done, but can't. Because of work. And this week is going to be troublesome because one person in my department is on vacation, two more are being shunted elsewhere, and oh yes, it's colder than the seventh circle of Hell, which means people are going to be placing orders for groceries rather than going to the store themselves for groceries.
At the risk of exposing my ignorance, where's your global warming now?
Well... as it never snowed where I live, I can't talk for the snow, but I have seen enough works of fiction to know the joy typically conveyed as such an occasion, and I'm glad that, going by what you say, you got to experience it on at least some form.
On current events... I wish I had something better to say than this, but I'm sorry your job keeps being so difficult. I truly hope things get easier soon on at least one front, though ideally they will get easier on more than one front.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to talk on global warming one way or the other, so I can't say anything there... but while still hoping that global warming turns out to actually fade in the future, I also hope that the cold you're dealing with also ends.
As always, fingers crossed for you. :) Take care.
I'm not thrilled about it either. Right now, I'm just hoping that things don't turn out as badly as I fear. And I appreciate the well-wishes.
