Progress update - what is to come · 6:21pm Dec 7th, 2023
Hello to everyone reading this (all five of you, yes)!
If you've been wondering about the radio silence recently, and thought I abandoned what I was writing, then I have some good news: My story focusing on Luna and Celestia is almost complete. (I'd say, the manuscript is 95% written). The way I put that (the absence of "Princess", and also, the order of their names) is on purpose.
I also said in a previous blog that I will only share more info about this story when it will be closer to release, and I think the time has finally come for that. Let's start with a title reveal. By the Will of the Council is going to be a fantasy-adventure focusing on a young Celestia and Luna (Luna and Celestia), particularly around a certain mission they have to partake in for their tribe. I could also call this historical-fantasy, as this is heavily a backstory fic. Not only the not-yet royal sisters appear, but some early Equestrian historic figures too, and we also get a glimpse at the sisters' lives within the ancient alicorn tribe.
This story is going to be a fast paced, adventurous tale of two beings who were born for greatness, but also strive to actually achieve it. The story isn't epic in scope, but I dare say "epic-adjacent", and it's going to be around 80k words finished. It will focus a bit more on the Sisters and their relationship than on epic action, but needless to say, there is a good balance between the aspects that make up a good adventure fic.
By the Will of the Council gets published in early 2024, if I can keep my schedule of editing, and everything goes as planned. This is all the information for now. Neckbeard, out.
PS: If this fic will be a success, it will feel kinda funny rereading this blog. As I'm going to tag it with the story, and then people who liked the story will inevitably read it. And then they'll ask: Why didn't we follow this guy earlier? And then I'll be like: HA! Okay, okay, I'll stop, let's release the story first, huh?
Guess that didn't turn out as expected.
