My Apology to Snow White · 1:34am Aug 24th, 2023

Hey, guys. Mr. J here.

Soooo....just about thirty minutes ago, I actually re-watched the first animated feature film produced by Disney: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. That's right. The very film of which I made a scathing "review" two years ago. To my surprise...I found myself enjoying it a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid.

Here's why I have a change of heart: over the past few weeks, I've been thinking about the film a lot and realized just how unfair and immature I was towards a movie I haven't seen in years since the time I initially reviewed it. In light of recent events in regards to its upcoming remake, I decided to re-watch it on Disney+. Now that I have a much clearer and deeper understanding of the movie, I have to admit that it is an underrated classic that deserves every praise and credit it needs.

As I looked back on my "review" earlier, I found myself cringing hard at almost every word I typed...it's like I was out of my mind while saying these things. So I can safely say that it is the worst movie review I have ever written. As a matter of fact, I can hardly call it a review; it was more of a ranty post someone would make on Twitter. "Oh, tHiS MoIvE SCaRed mE!!!! wAH! It trAMautised mE!!" If I could go back and slap my past self, I would. Snow White shows us many things that a lot of people overlook; if they could just take the time to actually sit down and watch the film for its simplistic storytelling and the lessons it contains, they could learn so much from it. I still think it is far from being the best, but it is worth watching. I can't go into depth because I want to reserve that for my real, mature review thereof, hopefully by the end of the year.

So, Snow White--my dear--please accept my humblest apology. I treated you too harshly when you didn't deserve it. That was my inner child reminiscing my childhood nightmares. Thankfully, I am way past that now.

That's all I wanted to say. So for those of you who have read my old "review" of the film, please disregard it.

Peace out!

You okay, bud?

I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes, whenever I've made a review on something, I'd suddenly find myself having a change of heart towards it. Then again, that's why I'd normally watch something twice before writing everything down, because I want to approach analyzing the thing in question with a clear head.
