Based on what the title dictates, I'm sure you know where this is going. Many of us can surely agree that we wish there were more exploration and lore of the species introduced in the G4 MLP Series. We already have the ponies down, but other species like griffins, diamond dogs, dragons, and kirin are ones that I wish were given a continuation of when it came to their societies. Sure we got some of what the dragons, griffins, and even kirin's way of life were, but we got next to nothing about the Diamond Dogs. Just the fact that they are gem hunters and nothing more. This is why for my future projects - at least the major ones - I'll be doing an exploration of those species and other species that have never been. A couple of them will be more or less imagined by me but it'll go the same route. I'll even be using some lore from different mythologies to help me out such as Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Japanese, etc.
For those who are curious, I have included a list of deities that will give a hint as to what species I will be having in my stories. I was thinking of doing a separate one of the species themselves before putting the deities next, but I think this will be better. Some of the names of the deities won't be from mythology, but they're names that I feel will fit them considering the creatures whose creations they'll be responsible for.

Just in case anyone is going to ask, the changelings, minotaurs, centaurs, and yaks will not be in my projects. It's not that I have anything against those types of creatures, but they're just not my cup of tea. Satyrs and Abyssinians are not going to be here either for the same reason as the other four, but also because I feel the MLP Movie just forced that on us out of nowhere in my opinion. I understand if others may be upset over that, but I'm standing by this decision and I only ask you to respect it.
What about Gargoyles?

I was actually planning to have gargoyles introduced, but as I was going through the process I came to the realization that it just wasnโt going to work. Nothing against gargoyles at all, or anyone that does like them. Butโฆ theyโre just not my cup of tea.
