Holla holla, yolla dolla.

Alright, so first and foremost: A continued thanks to those who have been favouriting both Firedance and Spider, Spider. It's good to know I've written something that people like and it gives me the confidence to try something else in the future.

Now, onto the meat and bones of this.

I'm sure we're all aware of what happened in America a few days ago, so no need to go into details about it. However, almost beating the media to the post in doing it, people have already begun jumping on the bandwagon of blaming my beloved past-time:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.396175-Mass-Effect-being-blamed-for-Connecticut-shooting

The first two posts in that topic contain images of the most...ignorant crap I've had the displeasure of laying eyes on (not counting the WBC). If you think you can stomach more of it, there's even more of the same shit here: http://i.imgur.com/Id2Wp.jpg

I couldn't finish with that second link, I disliked the feeling of having my IQ sapped from me. So let's examine the process here: First of all, let's all go to the page of the brother of the shooter, see that he's liked a vidjya garme and...ERMAHGERD! EVIRL VIDJYER GERMZ! VIDJYER GERMZ ER RESPERNSIBERL! BERN VIDJYA GERMZ!

Erm, how about no?

1. Video games do not, I repeat, do not turn people into killers. They do not train people in how to handle fire-arms. They do not drive people into murderous frenzies. They are not "evil". You know what they do do? They provide entertainment. They provide escapism and let us relax from the day-to-day stresses by diving into a fantasy realm in which we are the hero/anti-hero, or even, yes, the villain. But you know what? Like movies, not all games are sunshine and lollipops. Yes, some of them are violent, incredibly so. Not your bag? Fine. But don't come into my industry, trying to force your opinions on me.

2. The overall message/moral of both Mass Effect and the entire Mass Effect series, is that of peace through unity and co-operation, and what united nations (or, in the case of the game, species) can do when working together.

3. At no point, either during Mass Effect or any other game out there, can you shoot up a school full of children. You know why? Because they ain't fucking there! Even games such as Fable and Skyrim, with their sliding-scale moral systems, which do feature children in their worlds, don't allow you to harm them.

So yes, it was a tragedy. Yes, it was morally reprehensible. Yes, it was senseless. But you know who's to blame? The guy with the gun. Blame the fucker who pulled the trigger. Not some imaginary villain you've placed in a game, whose moral is actually quite altruistic. So you know what? How about you actually do a little research into the subject you're flapping your digital gums about, rather than making inane, self-gratifying facebook posts to make yourself feel better; you shallow, self-centred cunts. And if you can't do that, then withdraw from society, because you sure as shit aren't bringing intelligence to the table (yes, I realise the irony here, no-one point that out to me please).

*sighs*

With that out of the way, let me move on to a lighter note.

Saturday's episode: Full of win. I liked Spitfire. I liked Rainbow's integrity. I liked the re-appearance of Roid "Snowflake" Rage. YEAH! In general, damn good episode and very enjoyable.

Finally, before I go, Far Cry 3 is awesome. It has a mission involving a WWII-era flamethrower, fields of weed, a wibbly-wobbly screen filter and this song:

Need I say more? Go buy it. Now. :pinkiehappy:

Peace everypony.
