My April Fools Stories Are Finally BACK!! · 6:57am Jun 22nd, 2023

Hello, everypony!! Today, I have some excellent news to share. And so…after weeks of trying to get them reinstated, my two April Fools stories that I initially deleted are now finally back on the site!! If you have not gotten the chance to read both of them yet, now you have the chance. Let me try and explain what happened as best as I can.

So after I posted The Greatest G5 Mix-Up Story and The Tragedy of Sprout Cloverleaf: Instant Insanity on April 1st of this year, I began to worry about whether or not you would all be confused by their existence. After all, the only G5 stories I had been posting since Worthless’s release have been Misty Saga or Misty Saga-adjacent stories and I began to fear that you would think that these were part of the same continuity as I stated in my “A Proper Introduction” post that I usually only post interconnected stories unless a really great standalone story idea comes to me. So I decided to do the worst thing an author could ever do to their own work, and it was something that I immediately regretted afterwards.

I deleted them.

I initially had no problem in doing so as both of them are trollfics/crackfics meant for the lols only and were not meant to be taken seriously in any way. These weren’t really by best work (I’m sure you can definitely tell quality-wise as both were written in like only one hour) and random XD certainly isn’t really my preferred writing style as I’m much more drawn to the dark and gritty, Snyderverse-eque tone for my stories with hints of comedy sprinkled throughout. I also wanted to avoid continuity confusion between these Elseworld takes and the current Misty Saga, so they went bye bye not even a day after posting.

Boy did I regret that very quickly. Sometimes, it’s good to switch up the genre of your stories and I immediately had a change of heart. I realized that I actually wanted those stories to stay and get a good laugh out of readers. I was never fair to them and I wanted them back. So over the past few months, I’ve put out group threads asking for help and luckily, someone advised me to go get restoration aid from the moderators. I first messaged Spacecowboy, but he’s been offline for two years straight and he never got back to me. I was pretty sad that they were gone for good. I still had copies of both stored on Notes, but FIMFiction rules warn against posting the same story and after [well, you know], there was no way that I was going to test the site rules again. So I gave up for a while and began to accept that they would probably never come back. I posted The Fall of Opaline, started writing Redeemed, and generally gave up on ever having them read by the masses.

But then earlier today, I thought of a solution.

My holy salvation came in the form of my good friend Eldorado, who is a moderator on this site and very knowledgeable about the rules and technicalities involved in this sort of business. They were instrumental in helping me with a beef that I had with another person, so I knew that I could trust them. At that moment, I knew exactly who to turn to. I saw that Eldorado had been online an hour before, so I quickly hit them up on PMs and requested the restoration, hoping desperately that they would be able to restore my stories.

And they did! By some Luna-given miracle, Eldorado was able to restore them both for me to resubmit and now they are back and ready for all of you to read and give feedback on. Moral of the story is, don’t delete your stories just because the date of their relevance has passed. Continue to experiment with new genres and don’t be afraid to get a bit nonsensically wacky at times. If you all still want to read and comment on them in all their goofy glory, go ahead and do so! I’ll be looking forward to reading all of your comments. As for me, I’m determined to finish Part 1 of Redeemed tomorrow. If there’s either one of them that I would recommend to read more, it would be the Sprout story, no contest, which is why it’s tagged in the post. That story is so unabashedly hilarious on a whole other level that you would be missing out if you didn’t read it.

With that being said, I will see you all hopefully tomorrow. Bye!!
