It has come to my attention that Akira Toriyama, a famous mangaka who penned, among other things, the Dragon Ball manga, passed away March 1st at age 68. Acute Subdural Hematoma, apparently. Never knew the man himself, obviously, but, I've been a lifelong fan of his work, and it's sobering how he's just, gone. May he rest in peace.
This person has been working on this for years now. They deserve every bit of respect thrown their way.
Every piece of commentary on/criticism of any piece of media, from a kids book to a physics textbook is made with the benefit of something nobody could possibly have had at the time.
Hindsight.
Of course something is obvious in retrospect, we can piece together what led TO the thing with present knowledge of the thing in question having happened.
It was so damn beautiful. It was everything I could have hoped for and then some. It actually made me tear up, something that no other show has done to me. It has toppled The Lion King as my favorite Disney movie.
Yes, yes, it's not technically a movie, but still.
