Wonderbolts Academy

So, since I notice I apparently have a small group of watchers now (thank you guys, by the way), I figured I'd start using this blog feature for something other than just announcing story updates or non-updates. And while it might not be exactly original to do ep reviews, I use all my imagination writing fics, so for now, it's what I've got.

Also, I'll try to make this as unspoilery as I can for those who haven't seen it, but if you read beyond this point, what's spoiled gets spoiled.

Basically, I thought it was a great ep, my only major issue with it was the ending. It just...ended. Ok, Dash gets to be a lead pony...and she and her teammates fly off into the proverbial sunset. ...But now what? I mean, she didn't get into the Wonderbolts, but she didn't NOT get in either. Will Dash just be at the academy for the rest of the season? Or do we get a status quo reset next ep and it's not talked about, except when it actually becomes a plot point again?

Also, what of Lightning Dust? Do we count her as a villain now or what? I say not really. Aside from the two-parter baddies, none of the antagonists can be exactly considered evil except Trixie, but really ONLY under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet. Otherwise, they're really just jerks rather than outright bad guys.

Personally though? I expect to see the first LightningxGilda shipfics within the week. ;)

Seriously, aside from around five or so new ships, including Cloudrage and Rarilane, there was enough PinkieDash to qualify this ep as a shipfic on its own. Not that that's a bad thing, considering I like PinkieDash.

Also, guys...I WANT MY DERPY BACK! Remember all the fans who actually like her? You know...THE MAJORITY? Yeah, we want her back!
