Well, I finally got the long-awaited pre-reader response regarding Dawning Reality's submission to be posted on Equestria Daily...... It was not recommended for posting. I failed in several grammatical areas, including comma misuse, capitalization, puralization, homonym confusion, word misuse, and dialogue punctuation..... Aside from that, I did not clearly show the reader what Spike's growth implied, how many years had passed, how big he was, what he looked like, etc.
I am, of course, heartbroken.....
But not at all ready to give up!
The very last part of the e-mail said that with some revision, it might be considered again! So I'm simply going to focus on finishing the story first, and THEN revising it! I'll certainly take into consideration what Air Pirate told me, and I hope that I'll be able to fix up the story for the next submission. Of course, the little phrase at the end that said "This is the story's first strike out of a possible three.", is a bit scary, I won't lie. That means if by the second revision, I still don't get it right, I'll only have one last chance left, and it'd be a shame to not be able to someday have a featured story on Equestria Daily....
Oh well, I'll keep trying!
Anyways, regarding Dawning Reality's plot, I'm still having some trouble, but I'm really working on it! Whether you believe me or not, I'm trying my hardest. I have the beginning, I have the end, I just need a plotline to connect the two! I'll try consulting with some other writer friends here on FIMFiction as well as on Fanfiction.net, to see if perhaps they can offer some advice, and I'll do my best to get back to you with a decent Chapter 10!
Don't feel disheartened, WordSpark. Equestria Daily is 'legendary' for it's bullheadedness regarding stories.
You could say that it's even more stubborn than AJ. 
Take your time, we'll gladly wait.
