Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another TV show review for today! This afternoon, I will be reviewing a Disney animated series entitled Wander Over Yonder! I admit that this wasn't one of those cartoon shows I grew up watching (due to the fact I was much more interested in Nicktoon shows and Cartoon Network shows), but I was nonetheless interested in this show. Just like with "Star vs. The Forces of Evil", the main villain was the primary thing that hooked my interest in this show. Therefore, I binge-watched this show on Disney+ and immensely enjoyed the awesomeness that comprises this cartoon. So here are the reasons why I think it is one of Disney's best cartoons and possibly one of the most underrated animated series of all time.

This show is about an orange furry wanderer with a tough horse traveling across the galaxy. Hunted down by an egotistical conqueror named Lord Hater, Wander and Sylvia go on episodic adventures in evasive ways. Wander sees the good in everybody, and he can't help but befriend and help everyone he encounters. Will Lord Hater change his ways, or will he continue trying to conquer the galaxy?

Let me talk about Wander for a moment. He is basically the SpongeBob SquarePants of Disney Channel if you think about it. Like SpongeBob, he is completely friendly, loving, sweet, cheerful, and annoyingly helpful to every creature he comes across. Just like with Sylvia, I can't help but feel annoyed by his inability to accept that some people won't accept friendship. With that said, I am actually happy with the approach they took for this show. They didn't force anybody to change from their evil ways or rush any character development that would result in butchering the moral. Even though the majority of the segments are episodic, they are story-driven. They are written in the most fun and engaging way possible, with a few running gags here and there.

The voice acting is also awesome. Jack McBrayer did a splendid performance as Wander; it made me like him as a character, and despite how annoying he may be, he was still enjoyable to watch unlike some protagonists who murder the ears of the audience with an irritating voice (looking at you, SpongeBob and Steven Universe). April Winchell was great as Sylvia, who is honestly one of my favorite characters in the show. She's basically me whenever Wander does something foolish or ridiculous. I always enjoy characters who act as the voice of reason.

Keith Ferguson was fantastic as Lord Hater. You can tell he was having a blast while voicing this villain. Plus, he went through similar character growth as Ludo from SVTFOE. He became a three-dimensional character throughout the course of the show and went through a mid-crisis in the process. In the end, he realized his true identity and knew for sure what he was always meant to be...the GREATEST IN THE GALAXY!

Lord Dominator is by far the best villain of the show and one of my favorite villains of all time. Noel Wells did an amazing job giving that sadistic, evil, and joyfully wicked voice to our beloved villainess. It's nice to see an antagonist who is both evil and beautiful at the same time. Having charm and charisma, she manifested just how intimidating, cruel, competent, and ferocious she is. Although she had a lot of comedic moments, none of them undermined the seriousness of her villainy.

Even though there are a few characters I despise, they are outweighed by a number of other characters I love more. The show honestly deserved another season, but due to the unfortunate cancelation of the series, it ended with the season two finale. Regardless, I am happy with the way it ended, and it allows us to make headcanons or stories of how things went after season two. In conclusion, Wander Over Yonder is an excellent series that touches on themes of friendship, family, adventure, good vs evil, and perseverance. It actually inspires me as a person to do the right thing no matter what people say. Wherefore, I will officially rate it a solid 5/5: wandering to greatness!

Peace!

It's funny, really. "Wander Over Yander" wasn't a show that caught my eye as a child, but in recent years...I grew interested in eventually checking it out myself. The same with "Gravity Falls" and "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", of course, but that's mainly been because of how aware I became of their popularity.

Is this your TL;DR way of expressing your opinion on this series?

Oh, just in case--it's a link. Maybe that wasn't obvious. It takes you to my own review of WoY.

I knew that was a link. Anybody can see that. That’s why I asked my original question. :facehoof:
