Shite, yeah its not a pretty sight, one of my mates almost did below the end of the nail, but managed to stop before going right through chopping onions of all things, hope you're good man, take it easy to begin with until its healed a bit.

Personally, I never lost a finger tip. Though I did stab my hand with a box cutter! Doc said it was lucky, a millimeter to the left and I would have hit a nerve bundle and lost all feeling in my left index finger.
But the real question, is someone going to find a finger nail in their mashed potatoes now? :P
