Behind a Fools Writing

I am alive, and still working on more then one story. I apologies for the spiritic and allusive nature of my posting. However I have decided to let you all in on a small secret to how I write. (Or at least get the idea on how to write). I am horrid at improv, I can write all day but if you ask me to sit down with no notes. No ideas on a story, world, characters, then you will get little to nothing at all.

My writing prosses goes a bit like this:

• Reread last chapter, and notes of last chapter.
• Look into timeline, find mild ark for new chapter (I dislike pointless chapters, One should always learn something about the story. It could be a simple behavior that one character displays when in a situation, to setting the groundwork for the past and movement up the hill to the climax.)
• Write a summery of the new chapter, focusing on the path of the characters and story important points. (I tend to write without emotion, so noting emotions in the summery is typical.)
• Expand summery with dialog (first draft)
• Repeat while expanding summery into more detailed chapter (Second Draft)

• Lastly fix any mistakes I find along with continuity errors in descriptions of characters.

  • Ya... It may seem a bit odd from an outsiders perspective, ((Especially compared to a few other writers I know of)) that is the work I put into everything I write. Even my one off ideas have at least thrice the word count in notes and ideas for the story. Maybe I'll show some of my prosses if people ask but for now I thank everyone for doting on a overcritical writer.
