So, the Katana Kachi only run is on it's final labs, the one I'm on is actually the one that I might finish. So I can say, without a doubt, it is possible, to use Katana Kachi only. I have no strats at this point. I have huge moral, Gud charge bonus, and I can even just charge in a straight line against oncoming fire + cannon fire. Now the only problem with finishing this lab, Is I need 35+ provinces, I'm just about half. So this lab is gonna go as far as it can go before it either makes or breaks. The poll is now going to be shortened to the 5th. I'm confident, but it's all RNG at the start of the game.

Early game, you're gonna have to use what you got until you can find a way to just implement Katana's, No Navy until you can secure a gud foothold and number of ports(at least three to start), Get modernization fast in the early game so you can dish out some income; Don't forget to ally yourself with others, it helps not get invaded elsewhere. Mid game, you'll have a decent amount of Kachi at this point to split both generals, so depending on what side you went to get provinces move either north or south, the longer you wait to take out the Matsu, the worse their navy gets, then when that's said and done and you're ready, call all allies possible so you can still cover your main body, when the Matsu are takin care of and your generals and agents are no longer needed you'll be in the end game. End game, Prepare contingence's and back up plans, On the lab I'm on right now, I almost lost my body to a clan I had no Idea was bordering me for the longest time, I lost two cities, one which had most my income, I managed to take down the army at one of my castles with bare minimum defense and newly spawned agents, and that crushed them, My armies where on the way back to, so I retook all my provinces plus the one I didn't know they had. And where I'm at currently, I'm taking down the Tosa, Saga and Satsuma are killing each other, and I'm invading the 'invaders' at my north and planning an attack on Edo, Sunpu and Odawara. The Sunpu has a ship with an army near one of my provinces at the northern most Island, I have 3 copper ships floating next to them to prevent anything they do. I have big plans, can't let my allies screw me over.
Think I might just do a Yari Kachi run for the hell of it when this lab is done. ^_^
