Hidden away in the Crystal Castle throne room was a small book embedded in the top crystal of the throne. This was the diary of Sombra; of his days before he was a king. The diary was soon confiscated by Princess Celestia and added to the royal library for public viewing.

Dear Celestia,
We've finally landed down on this new island. The entire way Applejack and Rainbow were arguing over what to call it. Rainbow even mentioned naming the island after me, as you said I was to be in charge. That even I didn't agree with. Either way, we've managed to meet up with the expeditionary ponies, who you sent a few weeks prior, and have already begun working on changing their Spartan camp, into a thriving port town. I'm hopping that when you arrive next year to check on the progress, we'll have a wonderful town to show you.
Your forever faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle
This is a story idea that's been in my head ever sense I started playing the game Gnomoria a couple of days ago. Not sure if it will turn into a large story or a small novella. Either way, it had reached the point where I just HAD to write it down.
(Go check out the side-story, UEC Warning, contains spoilers.)
(Temporary Cover-art due to me being tired of waiting for sompony to give me a Cover Art for this story. I asked nicely!)
Twilight's success in her new spell is short-lived when an unforeseen effect leads to a nighttime visit from Princess Luna. Noticing something amiss, Twilight tests the waters of conversation, trying to uncover the source of the princess's melancholy--and succeeds, all too well. Twilight soon finds herself privy to tales of Luna's past and the jarring truth of her nature with respect to that of her much adored sister. The encounter leaves Twilight shaken, setting her on the path, with the aid of her new spell, to help Luna through her difficult time. The prized student finds herself distracted, however, drawn back time and again to the one question looming over all the rest: how to console a goddess who's lost faith in her purpose--and even more unnerving, in existence itself.

When the energy of the Crystal Heart shattered the evil King Sombra's body, everypony thought the ruthless tyrant destroyed. But it is not so...
King Sombra was more prepared for defeat than anypony thought. Deep within the frozen arctic, the Crystal Tyrant revives his body and reconquers the Crystal Empire overnight, incapacitating both Shining Armor and Princess Cadance in the process. Sombra has also learned from his past mistakes, wreaking havoc when the Equestrians least expect it.
War is coming, and Sombra has no intention of losing a second time. It will take all the strength of Twilight, her friends, and many of their previous enemies to stem the tides of darkness and stop King Sombra once and for all. And this time, the Power of Friendship may not be enough.
Rated T for some depictions of war violence and gore, along with some swearing.

Appletini and Azure Eminence offer to help Trixie in rebuilding her career, and promise that she doesn't have to go back home if she doesn't want to, and the broken Unicorn slowly begins to feel right at home in this new land.
