Whelp.
The gist of my writing lately has been.
Writers block
Guilt
Guilt based procrastination
Panic
So I have really been stuck in a creative slump with Hourglass, I have about half a chapter sitting in my word processor, and I know what I want to happen next, but I have no idea how to get there, and everything I'm writing on that page I end up deleting because it sounds like a stilted mess.
So that's the bad news
So, as some of you might have noticed (Or maybe none of you...how should I know?) Hourglass has reached the eleven chapter mark.
In both my previous stories, the eleventh chapter had served as the prologue, but this one is making out to be considerably longer...if it was an episode, Hourglass might just be a two-parter. As for how many chapters it's going to take to close up, I'd place a rough estimate at around three, but it could be more.
Seriously guys. You all rock.
About that much rock, to be exact.
I've been an aspiring writer since just about forever, but I've never been able to hash out a really good story in about...well...ever, and if I had been asked to put money on it at about this time last year, I'd call my chances of ever actually finishing a novel slim.
You know what though?
Yeah....so when I said my hiatus would last until November.....
I lied.
On the positive note, now that I've got this latest chapter out, I've already started the next chapter of Hourglass, and the second part of Duties is about half done as of right now.
I'm going on a brief hiatus until October in over, just because this is the craziest part of marching season, and what with the band competitions and homework, and making product for my booth at the craft show in whatever time I have left , my writing time will be really limited.
Curse my need for sleep
With tomorrow being the first day of the new school year....
chances are I am probably going to have a whole lot less time to write. So the updates are probably going to slow down from around once a week, to at the very most once every other week.
The next chapter of Hourglass is up, and *jazz hands* it's more than 4,000 words, even though my chapters usually don't go much over 3,000.
Why?
Because I'm a rule breaker, that's why.
REBELLION!
But also because I felt that splitting the chapter in two would draw out the slower beginning of the story longer than I liked, and an extra long chapter also makes sense after I was gone for a week.
The family is heading to visit by big sister, so I won't have much opportunity to write this week.
Sorry for the delay, hopefully things will be back on schedule by next week
Hugs,
