Decided to actually try my hand at coming up with a partial lexicon for the zebra language, so far it seems pretty cool, and bits of it will be appearing in future chapters.

However, don't fret, as I won't be writing entire sentences in zebra, just a stray word here and there. And once I post chapter 11, I'll put up a list of the words I've come up with so far here on the blog, as well as post any new words I create in the first comment of the chapter that they appear in.

It's something that happens quite often (in fact all the time). You get an idea for writing a story that involves canon characters from the show, be they the mane six, Spike, the Princesses, background characters... the list goes on and on. So, how do you use these characters? Obviously you want to take them in a direction different from the show, since the 'real' world the characters inhabit isn't likely to be as bright and happy and colorful as the show makes it out to be. The first draft anyway, as the title says. It's in the hands of my proofer now, he's only got 2251 more words to go. This thing is dropping like lead from a plane TONIGHT

Wrote myself into a corner plot wise, updated the chapter here to have Rainbow taking the second watch and Pinkie Pie with the third. Would have rewritten Chapter 10 instead, but realized I have about 500 words dedicated to the notion of Pinkie with third watch, as opposed to one sentence in chapter 9

I really wanted to have it done tonight, but had other things vying for my attention as well, and ended up falling short of that goal. However, I will have it up tomorrow without exception, so keep an eye on your inbox

Well, today is my last day of freedom before the semester starts. I'll be working hard to keep a steady pace on the story, but I do need to keep my focus on the schoolwork too.

However! I will continue to work hard to improve my writing so that you all can enjoy the rest of In Duty's Name, and the sequel that is currently being built (almost have the title, but going to hold onto it until In Duty's Name ends, don't want to spoil the surprise early after all )

Just finished it, gonna send it off to the proofreader tomorrow, expect it by tomorrow evening with any luck. Sorry for the delay.
