With everyone finally getting a chapter so you know where they are, I've decided to start pushing the story forward.
With everyone finally getting a chapter so you know where they are, I've decided to start pushing the story forward.
Well, by this chapter, we've now finally heard from all the main characters that I listed on the story description.
As ever, it's the lesser characters who are fun to write. I'm currently writing Sir Fancy Pants as a slightly mischievous nice guy who is equally comfortable in the higher echelons of society or dealing with Pinkie Pie.
And yes! We have our first mentions of potential relationships. As it currently stands, here are the pairings:
Spike and Sweetie Belle
Wow...
2000 words. When I started writing Princess Luna, I couldn't stop.
First thing you may notice- it's actually slightly behind the end of Chapter 3.
Also, only one pony this time! But I've been planning her for a while. Like Trixie, great fun to write.
A few other things:
Stiff Steward- I imagine he takes his job way too seriously, and loves the prestige and everything. Not necessarily a bad guy, or even an unlikable one, but when you're annoyed...
I embarked upon this bi-daily quest to write this fan-fiction to improve my writing skills, and to realise where I need work. Anyway, I've done a lot of background stuff besides write the chapter. So, I'm writing them up bit by bit.
One of my goals when having long discussions to make sure that people are doing something during them. You'll see this a lot in bad films, or older games, where two people talk by simply standing opposite each other and speaking. In real life, this doesn't happen. People move. People frown. In my stories, a lot of people frown.
I have frown lines. I probably frown too much.
Anyway, I'll often try to make sure you can see the ponies moving and interacting.
Well, what inspired it?
A conversation I had with my friend about the battle of Princess Celestia Versus Queen Chrysalis. He referred to it as similar to the battle between the Emperor and Horus (of Warhammer 40,000). After some thinking, I reworked it and I created something inspired by the tale.
No, it's not going to go the same way, or have the same plot. The fact that we have established characters will decide where the story goes. I'll try to keep as true to them as possible.
