I enjoy writing. If I think of anything clever to say I'll update this.

Doodling · 7:59am Oct 25th, 2017

While I am not gifted in drawing, I did pursue it for a time back in middle school, I was above average, but what I wanted to draw never seemed to come out right. I eventually transferred my time and effort into writing which is where I feel the most secure in my creative output. Fortunately, long lectures and boring classes have been a breeze to get by with some doodling I do for my stories. I have a notebook that I write down several ideas, plots, characters, backstories, creatures, lore, and

Upgraded Computer · 9:45am Oct 14th, 2017

The lateness in posting is due heavily on the the fact that my computer stopped working. Considering that it is a pretty decent computer, the problem turned out to be a RAM issue and the video card crapping out. Grand total was $500 to replace the necessary parts. All and all I will have the next chapter up today, Oct. 14, and quite possibly the next one as well. If only to make up for the time it's taken to sort out this computer trouble.

My apologies for the wait.

Learning To Fly · 5:16am Oct 3rd, 2017

Tom Petty was among my most beloved artists, my favorite song of his being "Learning To Fly", and these lyrics inspired the the premise of 'Smoldering It Over'.

It was a simple message that life could beat you down, break your heart, steal your crown, but we can still learn to fly; learn to overcome.

Rest in peace.

The Misconception of Write What You Know · 12:34pm Sep 29th, 2017

I've experienced the term 'write what you know' for many years now. It mainly being used as the spear head of the lance teachers and professors throw at young writers who have difficulty drawing our their creativity. This leads to stories that focus solely upon a writer's own personal experiences, events, and in most cases psychological/mental/sexual/physical issues that they've gone through. It ends up being a retelling of such a unique experience that no one can really immerse themselves into

Change In Cover Art · 8:30am Sep 16th, 2017

I've changed the cover art of 'The Phoenix King' to one I felt better suited the theme I started with the previous two stories involving a character that depicted the main focus of the story.

Smoldering It Over has a picture of a Fire Pony, done by Raikoh-illust, he is quite talented and I recommend anyone to give his site a visit.

References · 10:59am Sep 11th, 2017

It will come as little surprise to any writer that the inclusion of a reference, or nod to any other media is simply our subtle way of paying tribute to our personal influences. Sometimes the references are small, cleverly hidden, even obscure, and other times they are blatant or obvious. In any case, I simply love to see them pop up every now and again.

The Lateness of Posting · 7:15am Aug 30th, 2017

I've taken ill these last few days, nothing serious, but it has crippled my ability to write anything comprehensible in regards to the story. To add to the excuses, classes have started again, coupled with work, which has given me even less time and energy to write.

2nd Anniversary of Smoldering It Over: My Gratitude · 10:44am Aug 22nd, 2017

August 20, 2015, a Thursday, I sat with my own amalgamation of a Brain Trust; three very ambitious writers I am happy to call my friends. The topic of discussion at the time was our writing routine, and how our own day to day responsibilities hindered it in some way or another. I, most of all, was the biggest offender of being inconsistent and going long stretches of not writing anything.
