Well, I finally got Chapter Seven of Stormy Skies posted. I've had it written for a couple of weeks now, but my prereader was a bit busy and only got around to reading it recently. He laid to rest my fears that the tone for this chapter was jarringly different from the rest of the story.

All that remains is to write the epilogue, which should only be about a thousand words long, then I can finally click that little "completed" tag. Yay!

And then begins the editing.

I mentioned this idea to some friends, and they said I should try it. So I might. If I do, other stories will take precedence, because I'm not very confident that I can write a zombie story without losing the feel of a pony fic.

If anyone thinks this is a terrible idea, speak now of forever hold your peace.

I have a story idea. This story idea has a number of characters that are important to the plot, but they are not all important right at the start. A few really only start to shine partway through the story.

So the question is, should I tag them all right at the start, or should I wait until they are relevant to add tags for those characters?

I've found someone who is willing to give me a detailed critique of Stormy Skies. This means two things.

One: Stormy Skies will be undergoing significant edits in the near future. I'm already planning some changes to the CMC subplot. I want that to tie in more to the main plot, and also I don't like the way the CMC go about trying to get Scootaloo to fly. The methods they're using now don't feel right.

I was hanging out with this cute girl today, and she started bugging me to show her my writing. So I told her about my fanfictions.

She's a brony now.

That's right, my fanfics directly led to someone becoming a brony. I'm awesome.

I wrote chapter seven tonight and... well... it's terrible. Really terrible. Like, I-don't-know-how-to-fix-this terrible.

The problem is that the story hasn't really been building up properly. It needed more foreshadowing, and more of the right kind of tension. Chapter seven is the ending I've had planned all along, but it wasn't until I actually wrote it down that I realized the ending doesn't fit well with the rest of the story. It just doesn't flow well from what has come before.

I'm sorry that took so long. I got distracted by another story, and a new job, and Stormy Skies fell by the wayside for a bit. But with this chapter written down I'm rather eager to do chapter six, which has some interesting events (in my totally not biased opinion).

Some stories are entertaining. I spend a few moments or hours reading, and I smile or frown at the appropriate places. I enjoy the experience and do not regret the time spent. This is, in my own estimation, the quality level of my own stories when I try my very best.
