what do you think makes a story interesting? for I must do something wrong with my stories.

so, I have for quite a while wanting to write a story about Spike meeting his dragon family. I have the name of his father and two dragon youngsters he will befriend. sounds good and all but how good is oc's without a proper story?

if anyone sees this, and has a good idea for a good plot to this idea I am all ear.
