How would you guys improve Sunset's plan in EQG1 so that it could stand a better chance at succeeding?

I would like to make a crossover request to anyone who feels up to it. I would like it to be a Tales of the Abyss crossover where all the characters from that game are replace by ponies.

I was thinking about the season 5 premier and some things didn't add up, specifically, why would Starlight be so obssessed with removing every cutie mark but her own? Kind of makes me think that she has even bigger plans than just spreading a cult.
