A New Hive by ArtichokeLust is a fantastic piece of art and whimsy where Chrysalis and her changelings had something close to good reasoning for attacking Canterlot, and, unlike the bulk of buggy stories, were unhurt by the shield.

Poor Chrysalis had lived for far too long with beings that didn't really understand her, but, having collected enough love for her precious minions to ascend to sentience, she is ecstatic with glee.

and WHY am I up at three in the morning, you may ask? but of course, I was reading! Specifically, I was seduced by the clandestine script in the fic "Queen Celestia" I tried to go to sleep three hours ago-couldn't do it. The story centers in an alternate universe where two attacks were launched on two high rulers in the same day, resulting in the tale's protagonist and (mostly) narrator taking the place of one Princess Celestia.

Hey guys! I just finished a lovely fic called "My Little Dragon"

The premise is a world where all the characters are dragons except Spike, whom is the only pony. Many liberties were taken with the tone and structure of the series, which actually makes the adaptation significantly better. The story is emotional and sweet yet occasionally transitions into more heavy topics (as it should). While incomplete, I highly anticipate more of the same uplifting content.
