I was talking about the word count for a story I was writing for an EQD contest, how I would find it out based on page count. And I've got a couple of answers to that already elsewhere on Fimfiction, thanks for the reply though.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you mean..do you mean you want to chose what to show and what not to? Do you want to know how long you can make a fic, or how short?

If you're typing a fic up and there's a word-count limit, how many pages can you type per 1,000 words, roughly? I'm typing in Arial font, 12 point, for simplicity currently and have no clue how to do a word count in Google Docs for my draft. So I need a rough idea on how to get a word count for medium-density text (some dialogue) on a page. This way I will know whether I can edit for "show don't tell" and make the thing longer, or when I have to simplify and shorten the thing.
