Welcome to "Lightning in a Bottle"! Or something! · 1:15am Nov 19th, 2014

So I had an interesting idea lately. Reviews. I've often heard it said that the best way to become a good writer is to read. Read the good. Read the bad. Read the mediocre. Read what you like and what you dislike. Read what you know about, and what you're ignorant about. Read everything!

How to pace your stories, part 1 · 12:01am Oct 27th, 2014

I've been procrastinating about this request for a long time now. I'll be the first to admit I'm not exactly an expert: I have some raw talent and a bit of experience, but certinly no formal education or in-depth expertise. I guess that's all you need for writing fan fiction: gumption. At the same time, I believe that all writing--fanfiction or otherwise--can be held to higher standards.

Reports off my assassination by crazed gunman are greatly exaggerated · 7:37pm Sep 15th, 2014

We've got to stop meeting like this.

So it only now occurred to me that it's been awhile since I did anything on the site. On top of this, my last blog-post was about the whole city being locked down by a manhunt for a mentally unwell person with a firearm. From what I understand, this was the deadliest attack on the RCMP since the Mayerthorpe tragedy in 2005. I've never been more thankful of the dangerous and risky work the police do, and I grieve for their loss.

Taking the day off. Not exactly a good time to be a taxi driver.

Hopes and prayers, people. Hopes and prayers.

Reports of my orbital bombardment have been greatly exaggerated · 7:41pm Mar 18th, 2014

So I'm a taxi driver. I just got back from work. I work the day shift, which means I get up at the ungodly hour of two forty five ante meridiem... but if you want to catch a few airport calls right off the bat, you gotta get up pretty early in the morning. That's just the way it is. Anyways, I was lucky enough that I got a call to go pick up a bunch of pilots from a local hotel and transport them to the airport. I love pilots because you never know what part of the world they just came back

How to create compelling fleshed out characters, Part 1 · 7:12am Feb 8th, 2014

So I got a private message from some guy:

So I read both your stories Biased and Incomplete and The Death of Daring Do, firstly I just want to say your a genius of a writer and I loved both of them.
I wanted your opinion on the best way to flesh out characters in writing.
Daring Do and most of the characters in the show in general are fascinating writing subjects because their personalities are generally very flat.

Check it out, ma! · 7:51am Jan 18th, 2014

Looks like somebody posted a review of one of my favorite stories on their tumblr! Go check it out: the site looks all fresh and sparkly new, so now might be a good time to get in on the ground floor by giving it a like and a follow. I personally can't wait to see what other stories they review... I like to know what my readers are

Firstly: my brother is making as good a recovery as I could hope for. He's still stuck in the hospital until his physiotherapy is done and there's no telling how long that will be, but life is slowly regaining the thinnest veneer of normalcy. I go back to work tomorrow... rent and food and all that. Again, a big thanks to all you well wishers out there.
