I have a Good Reads page? The buck?
I have a Good Reads page? The buck?
I started writing back in 2012. I sucked. But I kept trying, I kept reading and adapting and adding on to my skills. I wanted to write more than anything, and I still do. To me, writing is something I cannot live without. It's as much an essential part too me as blood and organs are to you. I wouldn't be me without it. After I rose from absolutely horrible and cringy to just cringy and mediocre, I started a fic on Fanfiction.net called Just Another Day with Norman in 2013, based on ParaNorman.
What are the limits to the words, "I'm sorry"? Like... Can you smack someone in the face and ignore them, but an "I'm sorry." make it all better? I'd like to think not. I'm sorry. Heh. Funny words that the more you say them, the less real they seem. But, most words are like that aren't they? I "apologise" with those words a lot. Too often I think. They've lost potency and validity. Does that make my apologies lesser? Perhaps. Should I still apologize? Of course.
So, as the title ever so subtly suggests, I'm rereading Project Horizons.
Yeah that monster.
Now I just started, only to chapter five, but I've noticed a rather stark comparison. Deus and Kellogg. It's not at all an exact match, but let me go down the list. They're both bad ass cyborgs. (More so Deus.) They're both more intelligent than the common raider. (More so Kellogg, though he isn't a raider to be fair.)
So I've been catching up in school. I had to write a poetry assignment, so I chose to write one of them about Project Horizons, mainly because I'm rereading it. Specifically Blackjack. So uh... Here.

O’ Dealer, card handler of fate,
Will I be victorious?
How I hope my luck won’t be late.
Oh fate, please protect us.Will I be victorious?
Bullets rain with reckless abandon,
Oh fate, please protect us.
Friends in such danger? I will protect then.
There are three words in the title. Boom.
Okay, no. That was actually a mockery of the whole "Illuminati confirmed" crap, which, when used as a comedic device is rather funny if well done. My attempt was not well done, but it is also not the focus of this blog post.
