Hey, Junebug! It's My Birthday! · 5:22pm Mar 17th, 2017

Gabby-Gabby-Gaboo! It's time to go quackers for another Star Day!

This Star Day is particularly special as, like the image above, it is the start of a new life for me. The opportunity to rediscover the world in a whole new way. I may not be able to physically see anymore, but that does not mean I am without sight.

Getting My Ducks In A Row · 2:35pm Mar 10th, 2017

hOI!!!

I've been fighting a strong bout of depression for nearly a month with it only getting worse instead of better. Fortunately, there does appear to be light at the end of the tunnel.

So, to the point, I will be trying to get back on track with stories, comments, and notes within the next two weeks. I need time to heal wounds made as a result of troubles I've encountered while trying to regain employment since losing all my physical vision.

Should There Be A 2017 Disabilities Panel? · 12:25am Mar 6th, 2017

hOI!!!

There is a chance I could put on one more presentation this year at BronyCon in the Coping with Limitations Through Pony series. The trouble is going blind has made me dead broke. :(

So, I was curious if anyone would want to commission me to write a story for them? $10 for every 1,000 words. All money raised would go towards helping the team advocate at the convention.

Closure Through Pony - (Journaling) · 2:17am Mar 5th, 2017

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has played an intricate part in my final years with physical eyesight. It has inspired my talents as an author, allowed me to meet people who were involved in shows that kept me optimistic my creative concepts can be successful, given me a place I felt I wasn't judged negatively for my disability, and allowed me to genuinely advocate for those of us with special needs through our shared interest in how one show can unite us despite our

Flu / More Blind Troubles (Journaling) · 5:43pm Feb 24th, 2017

I'd like to apologize to everyone for not being very responsive these past two weeks. After coming back from saying my farewells to my grandfather, I jumped into getting materials together for taxes, job searching, and got the flu. :(

Blindness Plan - (Post Appt.) · 8:39pm Feb 12th, 2017

After visiting my grandmother, whom was married to my grandfather who just passed away, I headed off for my first appointment since being diagnosed fully blind.

Without much to check, the doctor and I focused on how we are going to start by having an appointment in six months. This will allow me to make my annual appointments during the summer instead of the winter.

Goodbye, Grandpa / Beethoven Factor · 3:03pm Feb 7th, 2017

hOI!!!

I'd like to preface the following with a concept that a lot of us can relate with. This being The Beethoven Factor. It is how those of us who endure numerous traumas, trials, and tribulations grow stronger, more creative, and appreciate life through building a "Mental Immune System". This system aids us in not only thriving despite life challenges, but helps us inspire others through our determination.

It's taken almost six months, but I finally have the epically awesome KNFB Reader! This application, which is available on iPhone and Android, allows you to take a picture of a document and have it read to you! I can now, with minimal struggle, read mail again! Whee!

It's Been a Year - (Journaling) · 6:10pm Jan 30th, 2017

hOI!!!

It's officially been over a year since I had the procedure, which was supposed to make me totally blind, happened. Unfortunately, it succeeded and lead to a year filled with ups and numerous downs.

The odds were against me. The surgery to rid my eye of infectious blisters that formed on my dying cornea was to be it. The last hurrah... But it wasn't. Instead, it succeeded and started to give me vision like I had not had in over six years! It was a miracle!
