Some months later, Misty had been assigned her first mission by the evil alicorn opaline.
"Very well, now let's find out what magic those ponies have", Misty said as she hid, spying on an earth pony and a unicorn walking together.
to which he continued to continue spying and then left the earth pony a mirror so that they could still spy on them in the castle
after a few minutes she is there she left without being seen
"So the cutie marks are connected to magic well Opaline didn't lie to me about that I'm going to give this information to Opaline", Misty said to herself

a few minutes later Misty was in the castle
"I thought you were lost again like when you were a filly but I rescued you", Opaline said
"Yes, I think cutie marks have to do with magic", Misty said.
"Did you make that up or what", Opaline said.
"Uh, I just thought so", Misty said.
"Well, you don't sound like a fool," Opaline said.
"If I had a cutie mark I'd sure know…" Misty was interrupted
"Just give me your theory," Opaline said.
"They shine when they use magic", said misty

Hours later, Opaline and Misty would spy on the ponies that gave them the mirror, but it wouldn't work once they entered the lighthouse.
"Because I can't see Ash anymore, that lighthouse must have a spell, but if I can't see inside it, I'll have to send someone to do it", Opaline said.
"Huh me?" Misty said
"No, Misty, it's not correct, I'll think about it later", Opaline said before leaving.
"I have to work harder, I really want my cutie mark and that's it" Misty said to herself with the mission of getting her cutie mark
