2720539 HahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
well she can't go for his head because there are nothing in there to fry. Maybe she should try and warm his cold heart up a bit
“You know I’m kidding. Anyways, I found the diplomat from beyond Luna’s night.” Xinrick said, turning around to look at you and Fenrir as you walk up. “May I introduce Aphrodite.”
who is this "you" your are speaking of? Aphrodite?
2720563 Yeah, there might be a few mistakes in this chapter. I wrote it after being awake for some 30 odd hours. While trying to fight off a demon child intent on using my keyboard as a drum.
Right there I was talking about the duo consisting of Aphrodite and Fenrir.
This chapter makes me happy keep up the good work. Also thanks and your welcome Lepking
Blueblood sees aliens...thinks he can beat them in the ring of battle... need i even say how fucking STUPID nay, RETARDED this is?!
The coming dick-stomping will be glorious.
2721400 It isn't so much 'sees aliens and thinks he can win', it's more of a 'she's a woman, there's no way I could lose' kind of mentality.
You know, that one that gets your ass so horribly whipped your grandchildren will be telling stories about it.
2721935 Come on though. You got to agree that Blueblood is just that ignorant and self obsessed that it would be a posability. I mean no offence to you if that is what you were thinking.
2722167 No offense taken at all. I agree he is indeed that ignorant, I just want the idea behind this fight to be more than 'Oooh, gotta test how strong these guys are'
It makes for a better story, and a much better lesson.
You should employ Major and Minor Arcana as ranks as well. It would be awesome to have Justice and Strength duel with Death and The Tower.
2723309 What?

In this story, you have gods, so why not have direct agents of the Prophets? Their style shows their Arcana. For example,
simoneludlow.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/celtic20cross.jpg
2729213 The squad commanders are actually the direct agents. They exist at the highest point, sitting directly below and only taking orders from Prophet himself (excluding extraneous circumstances such as the ones Ares and Hades are under now).
However, within the group of commanders there are those of higher ranks such as Aphrodite outranking Ares and Hades. Each one does specific jobs for Prophet, like in the beginning Hera is the head information facilitator.
Aphrodite, as High Consulate, is his primary ambassador to anyone, Ares is his death dealer, and Hades is the scout and tracker. Each one does their job better than anyone else, hence why they hold the positions.
They are his A-team, able to accomplish anything within reason they are told to do.
2729273
But surely a prophet is nothing without tarot, with which he/she can divine fates?
2729315 Prophet is more of a title earned than a position born into. Each Prophet is the one who defeated the Prophet before him, taking his position.
As well, each of the 'gods' here are the names given to their positions rather than the names they were born with themselves.
2729345
Indeed, but judging by the sort of style this culture has taken (Ancient Helike) I would assume that the Prophet would have a personal army, constantly at his beck and call, so naming them after Arcana would be a logical step. Also, the irony would be delicious.
2729365 He leads the entire Aetherian military. He doesn't need a personal army.
What the heck do you mean by arcanas anyways?
2729392
An Arcana is a card in the Tarot deck. These are divided into two piles, Major and Minor. Major Arcana are cards such as: The Fool, The Hanged Man, The Hierophant, The Devil, etc. Each of these is tells a stand-alone story, and are powerful augmenters. The Minor Arcana consist of 4 suites. These are: The Wands, The Swords, The Pentacles and The Cups. Each of these tell a grand Greek saga, with four "court" cards, Page, Knight, Queen and King.
2729424 Sounds like an extremely complex system to adapt into a story like this when I have so much planned out already.
If I can research more, I might put one into a different story later on.
2729435
Honestly, its rather easy to figure out. The Minor Arcana tell a story, usually a sad story, with a moral lesson, and the Major Arcana teach a human trait or atribute. I've dipped into Tarot, and the stories they tell and what they tell when drawn synergies well.
2729451 I wasn't suggesting that Tarot itself was difficult, it just requires the right kind of research.
The hard part would be putting them into a story, especially one that's already planned through somewhat.
aww man. this was looking to be a great story. but your typecasting of "women folk" and the duel was kinda amateurish and lost my interest. great interaction between the pony characters, especially twilight and the seed.
3108413 Ok, my 'typecasting' was that it was uncommon for women to be a part of their military, and nearly unheard of for one to hold such a high rank. This stems from the fact that until not even a hundred years ago women weren't really allow to do anything military wise. They were clerks and secretaries.
In this story, this all comes from the fact that, short a few exceptions here and there, women mostly stayed at home and dealt with the children. Which is historically accurate for any society in this era of civilization, and a few still. It isn't that I'm demeaning women, I'm providing a historical connection that supports an idea regarding Celestia in later chapters.
As for the duel, he insulted her and a superior officer, and Blueblood is indeed that ignorant. In a society like the Aetherian's, duels are a common thing over slights like that. It's a societal norm for them, to duel. The dying is just because she's a psycho.
You know...I came back here to reread the entire story and seeing the Aetherians again it kind of...worries me at how powerful they are, but kind of awe inspiring to see how strong such beings are and kick ass...also I looked back at my own OC's and slightly cringed at how...bad I helped type them up. But otherwise I think it's still fine on my part I suppose
