First of all, let's get this out of the way. Happy Fourth of July.

Second, I have good news. The epilogue for Legends of Magic is complete and will be posted on Saturday.

The good news is that work didn't try to call me in today. I suspect part of that might be due to the recent weather-related trouble at work - a power outage does kill business after all.

The bad news is that due to me needing to clear out a bunch of stuff that accumulated over the last few days, plus me getting distracted by streaming media (in my defense, I've rediscovered the sheer joy that is Phineas and Ferb), very little writing work was done.

Chapter Eight is up and online. With luck, the epilogue will be up soon as well.

Chapter Eight of Legends of Magic is done! It will be posted on Tuesday! The epilogue, hopefully, will follow soon thereafter.

Tuesday of next week is the last Tuesday of June. It was my hope to have everything done and posted on that date for Legends of Magic, but alas, work decided that it was not to be.

In any case, I've got tomorrow and Saturday off. If circumstances allow it, I stand a good chance of getting Chapter Eight finished and released next week. The epilogue remains up in the air, but it should follow shortly thereafter. Wish me luck, folks.

No writing today due to backlog and a dental appointment. Did a little bit of editing to the next chapter of Legends of Magic, however. Hopefully I'll be able to get more done with it on Saturday.

Chapter Eight for Legends of Magic currently sits at 8,040 words. The next time I sit down and work on it, with any luck, will see the last chunk of it finished and done. After that, I have one chunk left to write for the epilogue, and then, the whole thing is done.

I was hoping to get it all done this week. Unfortunately, as always, life interfered. Some of something is always better than nothing, but still.

Chapter Eight for Legends of Magic is currently sitting at almost seven thousand, five hundred words. I don't know if I'll have it done by the end of this week, but right now, there's only two chunks of it left. Plus one chunk for the epilogue.

It's close. It's so very tantalizingly close.

First, the news. Work has continued on Chapter Eight, and it's now up past 6,500 words. Hopefully, I'll get motivated and get more done with it tomorrow and have it complete and ready by the end of the day on Saturday.

My vacation from work is upon me. I've done a little bit of work on Chapter Eight, with it currently clocking in at 6,196 words, and have a clear plan for the rest of it. With any luck, I'll get all of it as well as the epilogue done by the end of this week, along with some other stuff besides.

It feels good to have the end in sight.

Well, I think with the release of Chapter Seven and the generally pleasant reaction to it, it might be a good idea to elaborate upon my portrayal of one of the characters to make their Quiververse debut in the story - specifically, Chancellor Neighsay.

Chapter Seven is up and online! I hope that everyone enjoys it!

So, I don't have this coming Tuesday off from work. But I do have this coming Monday, Memorial Day, off from work. What does this mean?

It means that, barring an unpleasant surprise, I'm posting the next chapter to Legends of Magic a day early.

As previously stated, Chapter Seven is finished and will be released the Tuesday of next week (barring unforeseen circumstances). Progress on Chapter Eight, thankfully, is proceeding apace, and is currently sitting at the better part of six thousand words. I've no doubt that it will break seven thousand by the end of next week (again, barring unforeseen circumstances).

Gotta say, it feels good to be writing again.

No writing today, between a dentist appointment that took longer than I'd have liked, a backlog purge, and errands. But at least all of that is cleared out, and Saturday looks promising.

Still just one chunk left for Chapter Seven. It taunts me. It taunts me, but I shall have it.

The bad news is that, despite my having two consecutive days off, I got distracted and was unable to get any serious writing done. Which stinks, as it'll still be a little bit yet before I complete Chapter Seven.

The good news is that I've outlined pretty much everything that still needs to be added to Chapter Eight and the epilogue. Which is good, as that will save me a little work later on, but still.

I don't know how I managed it, but I actually managed to get some progress made on Legends of Magic. Just one chunk left, and the next chapter is finished. If I'm lucky, that'll get done next week.

So yeah, the next chapter might actually get posted next month. Yay!

In theory, I have Saturday off. In theory, I'll be able to get something done that doesn't involve me doing nothing but killing backlog. In theory, I'm getting writing done and making progress on the next chapter beyond simple editing.

That's way too much theory by my reckoning. Fingers crossed that it becomes something more practical.

When I portray a character within my writing, I try my best to keep them as true to their portrayals in the original material as possible. If I were to write Twilight Sparkle as some bloodthirsty witch, it would be wrong for her and it would be wrong to my readers (though I suspect there's at least one sick weirdo out there who as done exactly that).
