I decided to commission a picture of Yang's winter furs, and it came out great. This guy is very fast.
Is nice.

Three months ago, a reader left a comment. since then, I've been working on a side project that came from that comment.
Sometimes, you forget about what was written before. Sometimes, you get reminded of something. Then when you go back to look it over, you see other things you forgot about, and maybe even a contradictory line or two. I did that recently, and there was small stuff I'd forgotten about in I Burn that brings new writings into a different light.
I'm starting to feel a bit of burnout with writing for I Burn. It's getting tougher to figure out what to write, and the motivation's fading a bit. I've finished writing chapter 116, but now, I'm not sure where to go from there.
A break from writing does sound nice, but there's not much else I can do to fill the time or use the creative energy that writing does for me.
I'm working on chapter 100 of I Burn, and I've decided to commission a piece of art for it. Those two facts are more coincidence than anything, really, since I came up with something that I don't think I could adequately describe in words. But still, chapter 100! And then, after that, more chapters, as usual.
Here's a picture I found that I like.
Thanks to the recent wave of positive comments, I'm feeling much more inspired to work on I Burn than I had been, and so I've put my face back into the volcano of typing.
. . .
I've read the writing in the comments for the chapter Irrational Behavior, and it seems the romance arc is not very popular. I guess I could try to defend my writing from the criticisms, but there's not much I can say. It is my first attempt at it, I will admit, so I kind of expected it wouldn't go all that well, but not like this. Honestly, part of me wants to heft the blame for it on the one who suggested it to me, but I won't do that. I'm the one who wrote it, I'm the one who published it,
If you're caught up on I Burn, you know that Yang has suddenly acquired a lot of dresses. A LOT of them. So, I'm going to open up submissions for dress designs.
You've written the same worldbuilding dialogue in two places that make sense, but it doesn't make sense to have them both, so one needs to be cut out entirely or redone into something else.
It's a minor pain.
Also, there's some worldbuilding coming up in a bit, so there's something to look forward to.
I've looked back at some older chapters of I Burn and have seen many mistakes. I will be going back through them and bringing them up to current standards, so things will be quiet on the updates for a bit longer.
A Lego rendition of the Carne Den smoker.
I'm working on something big for an upcoming chapter, and I thought I'd give everyone a hint as to what's coming.
The full and completed picture will be revealed in the chapter that it's relevant to, but feel free to try and figure out what's in there (aside from Lego pieces).
I'm opening OC submissions again. This time, it's for OCs to attend the Entrepreneur Awards Ceremony. They can be ones you've had for a long time, ones made just for this occasion, or anywhere in between.
Here's a blank submission form

After nearly a month of being unemployed due to Toys R Us closing (I was the Lego Specialist at my store), I finally have a job again. Because of this, I will no longer be able to dedicate hours to writing like I've been able to, so chapter releases will slow down. They should still come at a decent pace though, so keep looking forward to that.
And now, a picture of business Yang.
Serious business.
While you awesomeTM people have been waiting with patience for the next chapter of I Burn, how about taking a look at another idea I mentioned in a blog some time ago? An idea called Mirror Mirror, which has Displaced elements to it without actual displacement. For those who have noticed a trend, and for those who haven't, I will say that yes, I do have an idea for Red Like Roses, but I don't have one for From Shadows.
And I plan to use it too. Once I figure out an adequate enemy and/or situation to use it in.
I'm working on the next chapter of I Burn when I can, but due to work picking up because of the holidays, I'm just not finding the energy to work on it as much as I'd like to. I wish it was done now, but the writing for this chapter is a little. . . tedious.
Once it's done, I'm sure I'll be able to pick up the pace again. I'll aim to have it done by Thanksgiving so that, if I'm going to be with family for the day, I'll have something to do on my own.
I was there looking at details on various MLP characters because I felt like I needed to get up to date on them. I went to the character page for the 2017 movie, and as I kept reading, I was like
This movie has so many odd characters in it, and even humanoid characters. Sweet Celestia, is this going to be a mess to work out.
I saw some movie merchandise that mentioned Seaquestria, and this naturally got the gears of my mind turning, especially since it has seaponies in it, along with there being merpony figures of the mane 6 and a picture of a pufferfish Spike. Seriously, pufferfish Spike is a thing. And the seaponies look like Primarina.
I mean, just look at this!
One year ago, I submitted I Burn's first couple chapters. I started with a backlog of chapters, which helped a bit in those first few weeks or months or so. Reception was quite good, partially for the uniqueness of the Displaced character not cosplaying as the character they turned into or being the target of the Merchant. I think I also got extra points for some degrees of reality out of Yang (Yes, I still know her original name. Duh) and her reactions to her new body and new world. I've got a
