I recently read a thread where people discussed their opinions of HiE stories, and the general consensus was that HiE as a genre is full of uninteresting wish-fulfillment stories with poorly writen human characters. Devin’s “Split Personality”

So I’ve been re-reading the comments on Facing Changes, and I noticed a lot of comments addressing the voice in Devin’s head, some even raising the question of him being a schizophrenic, so here’s some clarification.

The voice in Devin’s head is not a split personality, but a personification of all the unvoiced negative feelings he has towards his father’s marriage and the changes that come with it. It takes Devin’s mild uncomfort and turns it into pure anger.

After reading some comments and rereading the story, I've decided that if I want Facing Changes to be as good as it can be, I really need to make it a longer story. I had a good start, but after rereading chapter 2, I saw how painfully rushed the ending was. With that being said, what I've decided to do is rewrite the ending of chapter two and continue the story from there to allow for better development and a better ending overall.
