Chapter 15 is knee deep in editing now. I should have it out by the weekend. It's shaping up to be a shorter chapter this time around.

In other news, I've got an upcoming trip to Detroit planned over Halloween. Silly Filly Studios is heading out to Youmacon and I'm going to be tagging along for the ride. With a new spat of writer's block conquered amid schedule changes and family matters I've managed to make some excellent progress on the next chapter. Sadly, I don't have a word count for you yet, but I expect that it's going to be in the 4k to 8k range, and may or may not feature starship shenanigans. I updated the first chapter to fall more in line with the rest of it in terms of quality. I've always felt that the opening was extremely weak so I decided to change it. No major story changes, I just gave it a different, more cinematic perspective.

First Draft of twelve is done. I'm in the process now of editing... yay. I've also been working on a new cover for the story using what I've been learning about digital painting and compositing. It's a great exercise and I have a WIP below. Rendering is taking about as long as I expected, especially since this is my first 'real' piece. It's a challenge, and I fully expect to take my time with it, so it may not be ready by the time the next chapter hits.

It will be at least a few days before I'll be able to work on the story. I've got a big trip coming on Thursday that I need to prepare for and I won't be back at my pc until after the following Monday evening. I'm leaving this as a heads up so you don't wonder where I ran off to.
