In the story I'm doing, the New Lunar Republic is formed by Princess Luna on Earth to unite humanity on December 21st, 1976 (this occurs five to seven years after Apollo 11 and ending the Cold War in 1974 with the Lunar Revolution, 571 years before the events of My little pony: FIM). In the future, SpaceX/NASA astronauts discover Prothean ruins on Mars (yes, it's a Mass Effect/MLP:FIM crossover with elements of halo and Star Wars) and uncovers the threat of the Reapers. Over the next several centuries, the New Lunar Republic prepares for war but unexpectedly encounters several alien species, human like in physical appearance. The New Lunar Republic reorganized its self from an interstellar to a galactic government, thus allowing the alien races to elect a senator to represent themselves on the newly formed Galactic Senate on Earth, an new ecumenopolis. The New Lunar Republic Armed Forces begins accepting other races into it ranks.
