Thought about bringing this up due to Fallout 76 (Don’t care about 76) going down to the Pay to Win route.

I have mixed feeling about this. Yes lootboxes and Pay to Win features are shit, but government involvement is the last thing what gamers want.

But it’s such a shame that it has come down to this. If only publishers regulate themselves, then the government wouldn’t get involved, but they won’t.

If the games were free upfront, like Warframe and Path of Exile, microtransactions are fine. But when they're necessary in full priced AAA titles like Assassin's Creed and Destiny, then I get agitated.

They had several warnings and chances to self regulate themselves and they ignored them.

Had they kept their greed in check there wouldn't have been necessary for the goverment to act.

they got too greedy compare to 6 or so years ago when they are good companies and gave a damn about their customers and the games themselves
