Awesome Stories that are well-written and have good characterization. Stories that make you happy that you read them and lift up the spirits. Sad stories are okay, as long as the ponies that make them up are in-character and the sadness doesn't go over the top into depressing, where there's some hope for a happy resolution. There's a place for that stuff (I actually like several Sad/Grimdark fanfics) but here I want the mostly stuff that focuses on the lives of the characters and how we can be uplifted by them.
