IT'S TIME FOR A CONTEST!! The very first contest I've ever hosted, so hopefully it won't be too boring.

Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared is becoming a tv show in September! MLP Generation 5 is becoming a tv show in september! The only way to celebrate such a momentous occasion is by doing digital dancing!

We all know how much the yellow guy LOVES horses, so we're putting ponies into the world of felt and puppets!

You may be asking "Bruh, what even is Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared?"
First of all, what rock have you been living under?
Secondly, Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared, abbreviated DHMIS, began as a standalone video on youtube back in 2011. Back then, the channel that uploaded it was known as "This is It".

It begins innocently, making you think it's some foreign version of Sesame Street, as a sketchbook comes to life and sings a song to a trio of puppets about creativity.
As the song progresses though, things get a little strange. But, near the end of the video, is where everything goes to complete meth, before returning to normal as if nothing happened.
The video exploded in popularity, and the creators decided they wanted to make more. A second video was released, before a kickstarter fundraiser was started to raise the money to make 4 more episodes.
The kickstarter was advertised through a video of the puppet trio being kidnapped and held for ransom.
The kickstarter surpassed its goal, and 4 more episodes were made, the final one being released in 2016.
Everyone thought DHMIS was finished after that. But, lo and behold, in September 2018, a new 30 second video was released, teasing a new episode, that Becky and Joe hoped would only be the Pilot episode for a DHMIS tv show.

Said episode was only ever seen by a select few, who attended the Sundance Film Festival in early 2019, where the full episode was shown.
It wasn't until July 2020, that it was officially announced that DHMIS had been picked up by channel 4 in the UK.
Fast forward to June 19 of this year, and a new video titled "Fly" was uploaded to the DHMIS channel on youtube, in which it confirmed the show's premier in September.
The videos themselves are littered with easter eggs from previous episodes. A major running theme is the date June 19. Which was also confirmed to represent Father's Day. Every episode is centered on June 19. Evey episode's end credits also thanks "Roy" at the very end, who is the yellow guy's creepy dad, and the show's sponsor.

Prizes
As of right now, there are no prizes for this. This is merely to build the hype for the DHMIS tv show, and, of course, the MLP Generation 5 tv show, which are both premiering in September of this year. I'll see if I can't get something together though.

Rules
-Rule number one...Get creative!!...and no porn...seriously, don't be like Roy.
-DHMIS characters can be either their object forms or their humanizations made popular through the padlock pairing in 2014. (Padlock is the pairing name for the sketchbook and the clock as humans. If you're going to write a padlock/MLP story, I HIGHLY recommend at least looking up what it is and having some familiarity with their characteristics as humans. Ex. Tony has his sword, Paige has her ink, they are both immortal beings, and though they look human, they are far from it. Tony can speed up time on an object, or reverse it with his hands when he takes his glove off, thus allowing him to heal or even bring people back to life, or rot them alive.)
Or, get creative and make ponified versions of them with their own characteristics!
-Any form of MLP is allowed. You wanna have Tony and Paige terrorize the mirror world? Go nuts! You wanna have Mean Steve (the key character from the new pilot episode) be a new cranky yet comedical teacher at CHS? Go for it! You wanna have Shrignold try and hook up Sunny and Hitch? Do it!

That's Not Enough Time!
-Even if there's not enough time for a full blown multi chapter epic, there's always time for a 1000 word one shot if you happen to be low on time. There will be a closing date for entries however, on September 15th at noon, MDT. After all, eventually, everybody runs out of time.

M-rated stories are allowed, because of potential padlock related content. But NO clop or porn.

I Finished My Story Way Ahead of Time!
-Whoah there friend, you might need to slow down! Go back, do editing, make it the best it can possibly be! If you do finish that early though, who says you have to stop there? If you want, write another story! There's no limit!

Contest begins July 14 on Pandemonium day! After all, what better day is there to begin a DHMIS related contest, than on Pandemonium Day?
