The rules of this group are very simple, even though the writing here is not.

General Rules

1) Abide by all of the rules of Fimfiction. This, of course, should be able to go without saying, but all too often doesn't. It should also go without saying that bigotry or prejudice of any kind will not be tolerated.

2) Treat each other with respect. We're here to share our love of the unusual, the difficult, and the adventurous in language and literature; as well as to obtain writing help and constructive criticism of our own work. As with all controversial subjects, disagreements will happen and passions can run high. However, we can debate and disagree without being rude or inflammatory, we get enough of that from the rest of the world.

3) Trolling will not be tolerated. This means any attempt at inciting, taunting, goading, whipping up, fomenting, inflaming, or otherwise provoking a negative response in others. The mods have been around a long time, they know the tricks, so keep civil or keep out.

4) Keep your work relevant. This is a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fansite, so anything posted here must exist within that world. That means more than just a slap-dash pony paint-job on an otherwise clearly unrelated work.

5) Off-topic discussions are best taken elsewhere. Again, we're here to discuss literature and find help with our own writing. This goes especially for politics or similarly polarizing and inflammatory subjects (eg. pineapple on pizza).

6) Have fun! That's why we're here, after all. If you're not having fun, why bother?

Submission Guidelines

1) The genres of Modernism, Post-Modernism, Experimental, and Avant Garde, are broad ones, with many variations. While some forms of Modernist/Post-Modernist/etc. literature use words more for their sound than their meaning, that's not really what we're about. Submissions that consist of little more than pages of gibberish will not be accepted. Ultimately, it is up to the mods to decide what qualifies and what doesn't. Use your best judgement.

2) Make sure your story is finished before you submit it. Unfinished works may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Make sure that your writing quality is adequate as well. Experimental use of vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation is encouraged; laziness is not. The one is not an excuse for the other.

3) Make sure your stories abide by the rules of the site. That means that ratings are set appropriately, stories are submitted to the appropriate folder, and content is correctly labeled.

4) Modernist, etc., literature very often explores mature themes. Explicit content is acceptable to a point; it should serve to support the work, not the other way around. Pornography (clop), extreme fetishes, and other forms of gratuitous sex and violence will not be accepted; there are other groups more appropriate for that sort of writing. No sex involving underage characters of any sort (ie. no foalcon).

5) Submitting stories from authors other than yourself is allowed, if they qualify; but it's polite to inquire with the original author before doing so.

Moderation

We want to maintain an open and welcoming space, with a good deal of latitude for discussion of the topic of this group. If you encounter posts or stories that you feel are inappropriate, please report them to the moderates via private message, do not address them in the forum or comments. Inappropriate stories, comments, or threads will be removed.

Individuals who violate the letter or spirit of the rules will be suspended or banned according to the judgement of the moderators. Depending on the nature and severity of the offense, warnings may or may not be given.

Moderator decisions are final. If your story has been rejected, or a post has been deleted, do not post threads complaining or harassing the moderators. If you have questions or concerns, contact the moderators or admins via private message.
