Wish I could give more than one upvote.
Those pictures are awesome.

I was playing with a story in which Nazi occultists near the end of WW2 made contact with an alien being.
This being showed them them how to make two gasses. One to reanimate dead flesh, and the other one to animate what was never alive.
Three soldiers were chosen to carry the green gas and bring the dead back to life while other soldiers used the red gas to animate golems and stone gargoyles. One gas carrier used the gas on tanks.

All of the animate and reanimated beings were docile and followed orders.
The soldier with the red gas left with the tanks to go to the area where the battle of the bulge was.
The other gas soldiers went to graveyards and reanimated the dead.

For a while, things looked bad for the Allied and Soviet forces. The living tanks could repair themselves and think. German tanks were already better than Allied tanks. The advantage of that combined with sentient tanks almost caused a rout but several members of the British Psi corps were able to assist at a great cost.

While on the other side the army of the dead forced the Soviet army to a standstill. The undead soldiers had to be blown apart to be destroyed. Not every soldier was skilled enough to do headshots. Then the green gas soldiers started spewing the gas on the Soviet soldiers.

Things were looking bad until the remaining tanks withdrew taking the red gas soldiers with them.
The green gas soldiers and their undead army also retreated.

A strange poisonous fog covered Berlin and other cities.
When the fog lifted, most of the people were gone. The survivors either died painfully or would die a long lingering death.

Meanwhile, an area in the southeast of Germany became a dead zone shrouded in poisonous fog.
Even the most well made gas mask failed. Any aircraft send over the region would crash.

Anyway, if I decide to do the story, I'll do my WW2 research.

By the way, you might like Brian Lumely's Necroscope series if it's still in print.
