The Great War (WWI, also known as the Four Years War, The War To End All Wars) happens to be a great interest of mine. I'm also fascinated by the pre-war politics and arms race between the former empires of Germany and Great Britain even before the war started.

(Like how Germany took Alsace and Lorraine from France in 1871, how Queen Elizabeth's nephew, Kaiser Wilhelm became King of Germany in 1879, how Germany engaged in an intense naval arms race with Britain, the building of Dreadnoughts, the first all-big-gun (big, twelve inch guns) battle ship that was also the first to be built that was all-electric, things like that.

It'll be interesting to see who writes Great War ponyfiction and how they write it.
