*Equus ~ An ancient empire spanning nearly the entire globe, ruled over by five 'princesses' representing the Aspects of Cosmic Harmony. It fell over a thousand years prior to the current time. It's capital was Fillyon.
**Aspects of Cosmic Harmony = Compassion, Love, Strength, Life, & Hope
**Each aspect ruled over separate areas of the globe
***Compassion ruled an area like Scandanavia - including Denmare, Norhay, Turnip, Whinnyland & Germaney. It's capital is Coltenhagen, Denmare, now a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
***Love ruled over an area like Eastern Europe - including Romaneighia, Ponyland, Serbneighia, Yokerain, & the Trottomane Empire. It's capital is Coltstantinople, Byzantium, now named Istallionbul, Trottomane Empire.
***Strength ruled over an area like southeast Asia - including Neighpon, Sire Korea, Marelasia, Haywaii, & Vietmane. It's capital was Tsuyoma, now a ruined island temple between Vietmane and Neighpon.
***Life ruled over an area like the middle east - Eqynt, Saddle Arabia, Mestrotamia, & Iraquine. It's capital was Manephis, currently a hidden city in the middle of the Saddle Arabian desert.
***Hope ruled over an area like the Mediterranean and Western Europe - Esponya, Prance, Spurta, Coltugal, & Istally. It's capital was Roan, Istally, now a ruined and cursed city that none have lived to come back from.
*The 'princesses' were not alicorns, formally called "Virtues".
**The word they used to call their rulers (Virtue) was later corrupted into the word present day ponies use for "Princess"
*The Crystal Empire is a direct offshoot nation from Equus, founded immediately after the Equusese Empire's fall.
