Here is a thread for your needs!

5268929 How do we know paranormal things even happen? Can't everything be explained by our ignorance and folsified evidence?

Most if the time, yes. But there are a few things they even science doesn't have a certain explanation for.

5269979 There was a time when we didn't have an explanation for fire, lightning and volcanos. It doesn't mean that they were paranormal then.

Every scientist will tell you that there are still A LOT of things that we don't know yet. For instance, we don't have an exact model for quantum physics yet. It doesn't mean that electrons are paranormal because of that. It just means that we don't have an answer yet.

Is there anything that would convince a scientist that paranormal even exists?

Paranormal

[par-uh-nawr-muh l]
adjective
1.
of or relating to the claimed occurrence of an event or perception without scientific explanation, as psychokinesis, extrasensory perception, or other purportedly supernatural phenomena.

Paranormal doesn't necessarily always mean ghosts and UFOs. It can mean anything science can't explain with our current knowledge of how things work.

For example, ball lightning is hardly explainable. There are speculations on how it works and why it happens, but nobody knows for sure. So, it is deemed a strange, or "paranormal" phenomena.

Am I making any sense?

5270031 If I understand you correctly, you're saying that fire, lightning, earthquakes, comets and volcanos used to be paranormal, and now they're not anymore.

Pretty much.

It's like this: if you don't understand it, can't explain it, don't know why it exists or why it happens, you'd think it to be strange, yes? That's what paranormal means. Anything that science cannot explain. Back before news and radar and such, tornadoes were feared greater than anything else here in the Midwest. They killed people, they look and sound frightening, and nobody knew how or why they worked.

Paranormal.
