There is a definitive truth in life. Two forces, however invisible, locked in a constant struggle. Light versus shadow. White versus black. Positive versus negative.
The light is loving, compassionate. It is warmth. It gives no thought to causing others pain. It cares for the well-being of others. Its first instinct upon meeting a stranger is to love and serve, no matter how poor how weird or how ugly. The only capability of light is that of good, bringing good and happiness to others. In their joy it finds joy, and in their pain it finds pain. It takes a special compassion in difference. It uses those differences like puzzle pieces to build a magnificent whole. It builds.
The darkness is nothing short of opposite. It is cold and bitter. The only things darkness can feel are hatred and anger and suffering. There can be no trust where there is darkness. Betrayal is imminent, for bonds only last as long as it is directly benefitted. Darkness is only capable of nurturing itself. In differences, it only finds the opportunity to hate and spit. It turns individuals against one another, using their differences to wound each other. It destroys.
Darkness, in all of its strength, cannot exist where there is light.
Which do you bring into the lives of others? What is that word you were going to say, that small act of kindness, what is it going to unleash on others? In the end, the side you serve will bring you the same things you brought to others. The light will bring you peace and warmth. The darkness can only stab you with regret and self-hatred.
