So the title kinda states my whole query. How would an author go about introducing an audience to a never before mentioned plot point or concept without causing irritation at a large dump of info. While not for a book or fanfiction i am writing the script to a Game i am developing and at the beginning of my story i need to explain how knights and paladins are classified without it just being a 6 minute expository cutscene. and even further in i wanted to have my group mage explain the differences in magics to a companion during some campfire banter, but everything i write just seems to be unpopular with my betas.
