I run a youtube channel where I do various topics about the My Little Pony Fandom. I recently ran a poll on Equestria Amino and what won was a remake of my second ever video (See below) "Why the OC Hate?" So I'm going to do what I didn't do last time and simply ask.

Why do you have the OC's that you do? Also, what is the most common criticism?

When I first got into the fandom five years ago, I made a multitude of OCs. After two years, I grew disgusted by these OCs due to their design in my hand or personality and backstory, so I either put them off to remake or completely threw away. Now all I have is a unicorn named Respawn Carl who I haven't shown fully to the MLP community due to having to finish some original projects first. When I first pitched the idea of the OC to a friend of mine he showed almost instant hate, thinking that because his first name is "Respawn" he thought this OC would be able to come back to life. I denied his assumption and clearly stated that his first name "Respawn" is actually a term I pulled from the gaming industry to show that he's a gamer, he understood this and apologized for his assumption. Other than that there hasn't been much of a chance to criticize this OC of mine.
