Okay, despite me being a noted communist on fimfic, I do not hang out here as much as I'd like since I spend most of my socialist time on reddit.

Here's an amazing quote from comrade /u/Cyrdius

Their fetishization of the state is hilarious and shows absolute no understanding of the state and its purpose in the first place(i.e. to protect capital as a whole).

"If we didn't have so many regulations and the state wasn't so big, things would be better", is Right-Libertarianism in a nutshell, yet experience and reality have historically shown this to be false, not to mention utterly impossible to implement. Regulations are almost always implemented to the benefit of capital - to produce a healthier workforce to have value extracted from, for example. Or are lobbied for by one company to undermine another. Or they are concessions forced by the working class in order to facilitate the state's ultimate role of protecting capital(i.e. concession to prevent revolution).

My understanding of Right-Libertarians is that they also show a negative view towards a relationship between state and capital in the first place(Eg. Lobbying, bribing); That is, the state shouldn't regulate capital, and in turn capital shouldn't interfere in matters of state. Given the state's existence is entirely to protect and serve capital, the relationship between the state and businesses which Right-Libertarians find so unsavory is inherent in the system of Capitalism.

But furthermore, this is close to a Fascistic corporatist economic model, except where in Fascism the state plays a mediator role between the workers and capital(In favour of capital almost universally), Right-Libertarianism doesn't even want to mediate.

And here we simply get to the core question of the state; If the state is designed to protect and serve capital, what happens to it when under the Right-Libertarian system, the state and capital have absolutely no interaction or relationship? Probably not something to dissimilar to what Lenin imagined would happen to a Proletarian Democracy, just from a right wing perspective(Seeing as we're suspending all reality here).

Assuming that it was even possible for this situation to arise(It isn't), the state would simply die, there would no longer be a monopoly on the use of force, and then the workers will be free to seize production from the bosses.

Failing this, the state will inevitably re-emerge under the same conditions as it exists today, as the necessity for capital to be protected by the state from workers is absolute, and then all of the things that come with that, that Right-Libertarians hate, as well. Who else is going to protect property rights? They may argue that the company could hire some private security to do this, and then hold all these stringent rules and regulations etc. At this point the company simply becomes a replacement for the state, just with some different formations.

I might forgive them as misguided individuals that would be interesting to talk too, as they see problems with the current way of doing things but simply have a really bad solution. However, on a Venn Diagram, being a Right-Libertarian and being a Social Backwards Piece of Shit Conservative have a near absolute overlap.

Now, my views have been coloured almost entirely by my experience with the AnCap sect of Right-Libertarianism, but I don't imagine the others will be much more logically consistent.

I can't wait to hear their criticisms. In fact I can probably put them down already;

*Doesn't take into account human nature(No, we just spent hundreds of years developing this and never once considered humans, the people it is designed for)
*Something something big state something something statist something something
*Hitler/Stalin/Mao
*Looks good on paper but
*Something something Sweden
*Maybe something about voluntary association if they're actually thinking of the issue in a semi-critical fashion

(Hey downvoting trolls, actually try to debunk this rather than downvoting it. Plus, I'm not the original poster)

I'm more of a Revlefter myself. I tend to join the group, comment, then leave and lurk. Only reason I do this TBH is so my groups tab doesn't get cluttered up.

Honestly, Knightly needs to come up with a better system for that. Well, that and a better PM system.

Sorry, I've kinda derailed things. :ajsleepy:
