I ship Double Diamond with Starlight Glimmer 100%. He was her most faithful follower among the town, after all. He brought her the mane six's cutie marks and everything, and he seemed genuinely crushed when Starlight was revealed to have been lying. Also, when he finds his old skis, the first thing he says is "this is where I first met Starlight..."

She must have seduced him with her feminine charms and manipulative nature. ....you know...since all new members of the cult stay with Starlight until their cottage is finished.
