The My Little Mages Alt universes are the closest to ours in terms of physiology and basic approach to various components. That all said, writers are still mostly using RPG source material and movies for determining the capabilities of gear. I'm not saying that's entirely a bad thing, but those sources are usually missing something crucial, real world context (historical and otherwise). A while back I watched these videos
