4077858 The fog door for Manus is across a small stone bridge, with holes to either side. If one looks down the right-side hole, one can see some little red dots.

That's Manus' head.

The right position and camera angle with every range-boosting trick available allows you to chip away at his health without ever entering the boss door. This means The Black Bow of Pharis and feather arrows at least, and the Hawk ring. I was doing 33 damage per shot. It took a while, but I killed him without ever touching the fog door. You can't aim down the hole in first-person aiming mode, which is why I mention finding the right camera angle.
