Note: as an Uplifted Race, the Thennanin have a long name in the primary intergalactic languages. "a" refers to the species in question, "-ab" referring to the species which uplifted it along with the species who uplifted the uplifters, and "-ul" referring to the "clients" of the addressed species

One of the many "Uplifted" races, the Thennanin (a Thennanin -ab Wortl -ab Kosh -ab Rosh -ab Tothoon -ul Paimin -ul Rammin -ul Ynnin -ul Olumimun -ul Garthling) were uplifted 33 million years ago.

The Thennanin have distinguished themselves as diplomats and ecologists.

The Thennanin stand about seven feet tall, and resemble reptiles. Their green heads have a large beak-like mouth and a large crest of taut skin above the head. The head crest begins at the forehead and tapers as it stretches across the top of the cranium to the base of the skull. Fully extended, the crest can rise as much as a foot above the head. Encircling the neck are small breathing slits, which double as vocal organs (along with the mouth) and direct vents to the lungs. They stand bipedally with a stance similar to equines, but with great shoulders almost twice as wide. At the elbows, there are massive bone protrusions, and the fingers have retractable claws. The Thennanin boast a complete inability to sense psi of any kind or magnitude, which puts them completely out of harms way when it comes to dealing with the psi weapons of mass destruction.

The Clan of the Thennanin are a dour race, as serious as possible at all times, with as much sense of humor as sense of psi (none). They find the many species' notions of what is funny completely unable to fathom. The Thennanin are a fanatical race, but do not deem to harm living organisms. They use more political means to achieve victory.

The Thennanin are always in strict adherance to all known Galactic Laws, and respect ecology and the wellbeing of pre-clients on the same level as their own survival. They are fair and just while dealing with their Clients, and all so far have shown exceptional ability as starfaring races.
