An old race, the Crik hail from a planet of the same name.

They are not actually reptiles, but are more akin to amphibians. Their skin is smooth but bumpy (possibly giving the look of scales) and warm to the touch, suggesting they are warm blooded. They also have gills on their necks, allowing them to stay submerged in the swamps of their world indefinitely. Their hands are webbed and have claw-like nails instead of actual claws. The spikes and tail are something that is only found in adults/alphas.

Their society is a mostly equal but they appear to also have family hierarchies based on age and a possible warrior caste. The spikes and tails are a symbol of this higher status and it is considered a disgrace if the tail is cut off (though it eventually grows back). It should be noted that while they are not malevolent, they can be aggressive. However, they seem to respect off-worlders with strong will and if you are firm (not harsh) with them, they will show more respect. An investing thing about them is that though they can communicate in Common, though their native language that can be best described as mix of guttural sounds and hisses.
